世界母親大会　　　　　　　　　日本母親大会

 1954年3月ビキニ水域でのアメリカの水爆実験に抗議して，日本婦人団体連合会会長の

平塚らいてうは国際民主婦人連盟にあてて（原水爆禁止をのぞむ日本婦人の訴え）を送った。この訴えが支持され，55年7月にスイスのローザンヌで世界母親大会が開かれた(参加68ヵ国，1060人，日本からは団長の河崎なつら14人)。

In protest to the hydrogen bomb testing in Bikini Atolls conducted on March 1, 1954, Ms.Raicho Hiratsuka, the president of Japan Women’s Federation, made an appeal for abolition of A & H Bombs.

 The appeal was sent to the Women’s International Democratic Federation and it was approved to hold a World Mothers Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland in July 1955. 1060 women from 68 countries attended the Conference.

その準備大会をかねて同年6月に東京で第1回母親大会を開き，子どものいのちを守り育てる母親の立場からの新しい女性解放運動の誕生として注目を浴びた。
